Three children were removed from a Logan home after police discovered squalid conditions there.

Philadelphia police went to the home on the 4800 block of North Ninth Street on Thursday morning to arrest the children's mother, 24-year-old Lakeeshanaye Overton, on a domestic violence-related warrant.

While at the home, the officers observed feces, unknown fluids and trash covering the floor, furniture and a playpen.

Police decided to remove the three girls, ages 1, 3 and 4, from the home. The girls were clothed only in diapers, and there were no beds or cribs for them in the home, according to police.

No injuries were found on any of the girls during examinations at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, according to police. They are going to be placed in foster homes by the Philadelphia Department of Human Services.

Overton and the children's father, 25-year-oldSoyika Eldemire, were arrested on numerous child endangerment charges.
