Killer charged in cold case

A convicted killer was indicted yesterday in a former cold case that remained unsolved since the 1970s. Cops arrested photographer Rodney Alcala, 67, who also went by the name John Berger, for the alleged rape and murder of Cornelia Crilley, 23, an Upper East Side flight attendant, in 1971. He is accused of later murdering Manhattanite Ellen Hover, 23, in 1977 in Westchester.
