Lady Gaga arrives at Harvard for Born This Way Foundation launch

The Mother Monster was set to kick off the event at 4 p.m. at Harvard.

Lady Gaga arrived at Harvard University this afternoon as she gets ready to officially launch her Born This Way Foundation.

The pop megastar arrived under the watchful eye of many security guards and police officers. Her event also features her mother, Oprah Winfrey, Deepak Chopra and is not open to the general public.

"Getting ready for Harvard. Mother is asking me for fashion advice, little does she know I stole her look," Gaga tweeted earlier today.

The foundation set out a letter to their supporters today.

"I'm here at Harvard University's Sanders Theatre with my daughter, Lady Gaga, and Oprah. We're getting ready to take the stage to officially unveil the Born This Way Foundation," said Cynthia Germanotta, Gaga's mother. "We are so excited to share this day with you and to have your help in building a braver, kinder world."

The event is being live-streamed and can be seen here.

Gaga's foundation aims at fighting bullying while promoting self-confidence, mentoring and career development through research, education and advocacy.
