Leaky roof at Back Bay to be fixed

BOSTON. Construction will begin to replace Back Bay station’s leaky roof next week. Originally installed in 1987, the roof had a 20-year life expectancy and will cost $1.4 million to replace. The project will finally be done thanks to federal stimulus funds.

The new 60,000-square-foot roof will take eight weeks to install and is expected to last 30 years.
