LIRR train hits car on tracks

BRENTWOOD – A Ronkonkoma-bound LIRR train collided with a car yesterday afternoon. The eastbound train hit the vehicle on the tracks at the Fifth Avenue crossing at 12:45 p.m. Train service resumed at 1:05 p.m. with no reported injuries to riders on the train or the car’s driver.
