Montgomery County authorities have charged a man with the strangulation death of his live-in girlfriend over the weekend.
Johnny Fossett allegedly confessed to the murder of Lori Jefferson, who was found bound and gagged inside her home Sunday morning. Fossett is charged with first- and second-degree murder and related charges and was arraigned yesterday. He is being held without bail.
Authorities said Fossett and Jefferson met in Jacksonville, Fla., last year, and Fossett was living with Jefferson in the Wyndmoor section of Springfield Township. The two allegedly had an argument some time early Sunday that escalated and Fossett began choking Jefferson. After strangling, binding and gagging her, he allegedly took several items from the home, including a television and computer. Fossett also took Jefferson's car keys and her car and fled to Philadelphia, authorities said.

The Montgomery County Coroner's Office determined the cause of death was strangulation and ruled it a homicide.
Fossett is being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Jan. 26 before Magisterial District Judge Katherine McGill.
