One person died in a fire at a Brooklyn apartment building early Friday morning.

The fire began around 3 a.m. at 51 Ross St. in Williamsburg, police said. A 78-year-old man was found in his apartment and pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other people suffered minor injuries, Eyewitness News reported. The fire broke out on the 12th Floor and it was confined to one apartment.

There was another deadly fire in the same apartment building last month when an elderly woman died in her apartment. That fire is believed to have been caused by a lit cigarette in the woman’s living room.
