Man befriends, robs elderly man in East Village

Cops are searching for a man they say robbed an elderly man in the East Village.

According to the NYPD, on Jan. 29 around 1 p.m., a man befriended the 81-year-old victim and offered to help him with errands.

But as they returned to the man's home, the suspect grabbed the victim and robbed him.

Cops described the suspect as male, black, 6 feet tall, 220 pounds and in a dark hooded Adidas sweatshirt.
