Man charged in dog sex assault

LONG BEACH – Police arrested a Long Beach landlord on Friday and charged him with breaking into a tenant’s apartment and sexually assaulting a dog there.

Mitchell Marsicano, 55, allegedly engaged in sex acts with Snowball, a four-year-old, 23-pound male Shiba Inu. Daniel Miller, a tenant of Marsicano’s, told authorities he witnessed the incident, which occurred in his apartment Thursday. An earlier incident allegedly occurred Oct. 12.

Authorities took the dog, which reportedly showed signs of trauma and injuries to its legs, to the Freeport Animal Shelter.

Marsicano was held on $10,000 bail. His next court date was set for Oct. 27.
