A hit-and-run driver who killed a 4-year-old boy in a Staten Island crash turned himself in Saturday.

A hit-and-run driver who killed a 4-year-old boy in a Staten Island crash turned himself in Saturday.

John Sanjurjo, 33, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious injury after his Mercedes Benz SUV hit three pedestrians from New Jersey around 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Police said Sanjurjo's car struck 4-year-old Kyrillos Gendy and two others when he sped from the parking lot at Diddle Dee Bagel and Deli on Richmond Road.

Gendry, of South Amboy, N.J., was pronounced dead at Staten Island University Hospital shortly after the accident. His mother and sister, also hit, suffered only minor injuries, police said.
