Man charged with allegedly castrating paraplegic in assisted living
Bail was set for $5 million for Edgar Bonilla, 41, who is accused of cutting off the testicles of a paraplegic man inside an assisted living facility.
The District Attorney's Office on Tuesday charged a man for allegedly castrating a paraplegic resident inside an assisted living facility Monday night.
Police said Edgar Bonilla, 41, attacked a paraplegic man and cut off his testicles.
Bonilla was arrested Monday and arraigned Tuesday afternoon.
He is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, robbery, burglary, criminal trespassing, theft, receiving stolen property, possession of an instrument of crime, simple assault and reckless endangerment.
Bonilla was on Monday jailed in lieu of 10 percent of $5 million bail.
He is next due in court July 2 for a preliminary hearing.
