A 27-year-old man is confirmed dead after athree-alarm fire in a Hell's Kitchen high rise stranded some upper-floor residents and sent at least one other person to the hospital.
The fire broke out shortly after 11 a.m. on Sunday on the 20th floor of a building at 43rd Street and 10th Avenue, an FDNY spokesman told the Daily News, adding that two civilians were taken to separate hospitals with critical injuries.
Over 100 firefighters responded to the fire, which was brought under control shortly before 1 p.m., ABC News reports.

A man stranded above the blaze with his family tweeted an image of the blaze before reporting that firefighters had reached his floor.
