A 21-year-old man died Sunday night at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital after he was shot in a melee outside a South Street bar.
The fatal shooting happened about 1:15 a.m. Sunday, NBC10 reports. The incident started as a fight inside Mixed Plate bar and restaurant, located on the 200 block of South Street, that spilled out into the street, where the fatal gunfire occurred.
A 23-year-old man is behind bars in connection with the fatal shooting, according to the report. He allegedly fired 10 shots.
The suspect fled, but Philadelphia police apprehended him about a block away, at Bainbridge and Front streets. The gun used in the shooting was recovered, according to the report.
