A 21-year-old man who was put in charge of watching a pair of Lynn toddlers who were severely burned in a bathtub was expected to be in court Wednesday for charges relating to the incident.

Charles Robinson Collins, 21, faces two counts of child endangerment, according to the Essex district attorney’s office.

Police were called to the Essex Street apartment building just after 7 a.m. on June 18 for a medical emergency. Emergency crews found a 3-year-old and a 2-year-old suffering from severe burns, police said. The burns were believed to be from exposure to hot water while the toddlers were in a bathtub.

The children were flown to a Boston hospital and are recovering, police said.
