A Roxbury man was arrested and charged with attacking a Massachusetts College of Art and Design student on campus last month. Venard Shepard, 21, was ordered held on $100,000 cash bail during his arraignment Friday.
Shepard allegedly approached the student from behind, strangled her with a cloth and attempted to sexually assault her. The victim let Shepard into a campus computer lab after he knocked on the door, authorities said. The student broke free after a struggle and notified campus security.
