A railroad trespasser was struck by an outbound commuter rail train at 11:30 a.m. in Woburn, under the Rt. 128 bridge, according to an MBTA spokesman.
According to reports, an unidentified middle-aged man was pronounced dead at the scene after getting hit by the train.
The accident has caused significant delays to trains in the area.
Buses were dispatched to the area to shuttle passengers around the scene of the incident.
Transit Police detectives, along with the Middlesex D.A.’s office, are investigating.
