Man killed at LES barber shop

An argument that broke out inside a Lower East Side barber shop on Saturday night left one man dead.

The dispute happened inside Jose Beauty Salon and Barber Shop at 110 Forsyth Street, near the intersection of Broome Street and directly across the street from the popular Sara D. Roosevelt public park.

The brawl spilled out onto the sidewalk, where a 32-year-old Hispanic man was fatally shot.

Police responded to a 911 call of a man assaulted at the shop at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday. When cops arrived, witnesses told them that the victim had been shot in front of the building.

His was rushed to Bellevue Hospital before police arrived, but he was pronounced dead on arrival, killed by a single gunshot wound to the chest.

“I heard both shots. It happened real quick,” one witness told the New York Post. “Everybody from the little crowd ran in every direction.”

Police have not made any arrests in the murder, but an investigation is ongoing. The name of the victim was not released yesterday.
