A man stabbed multiple times early Wednesday morning at a Manhattan subway platform is expected to recover from his injuries.
Police said the 53-year-old man was found bleeding and unresponsive in front of subway stairs at West 18th Street and Seventh Avenue in Chelsea at around 5:30 a.m..
Investigators believe the man was on the southbound 1 train platform when he may have been in some sort of verbal altercation with more than one unidentified person.
At some unknown point, the fight reportedly got physical and led to the stabbing.

Authorities have made no arrests and descriptions of the suspect currently only identify him as a black male.
The victim was immediately transported to Bellevue Hospital Center and is reportedly in stable condition.
As of 8:15 a.m., the Metropolitan Transportation Authority said southbound 1 trains were bypassing the station and asked riders to allow for additional travel time.
