Man shot in South Philadelphia, stray bullets hit cars, house

The gunfire erupted about 1:15 a.m., and stray bullets struck two parked cars and a home on Tasker Street, police said.

A South Philadelphia man was shot three times a few blocks from his Wilder Street home early this morning.

The victim was taken by private vehicle to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania after the shooting on the 2200 block of Tasker Street, police said. He was last listed in critical but stable condition with one gunshot wound to his face and two to his left arm.

The gunfire erupted about 1:15 a.m., and stray bullets struck two parked cars and a home on Tasker Street, police said.

One bullet went through a home's front window into the living room.A woman and her two grandchildren reportedly were sleeping in the home at the time. They were not hurt.

Police are seeking two suspects in connection with the shooting. The gunman is described as a black male, last seen wearing a dark hoodie. He was accompanied by a dark-skinned black male who is thin and about 5 feet 7 inches tall.
