A 21-year-old man was killed by gunfire outside his grandmother's home in South Philly on Monday night.


Philadelphia police recovered nearly two dozen shell casings on the 1300 block of South Fifth Street while investigating the homicide.


Gunshots rang out in the South Philadelphia neighborhood about 10:44 p.m.


Jamahal Miller, of South 29th Street, was pronounced dead at 11:12 p.m. at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, according to police. He died from gunshot wounds to his left arm and torso.

A motive for the slaying has not been established, police said Tuesday morning.
