A man was shot and killed at a West Oak Lane playground Monday afternoon.

The shooting happened at Morris Estate Recreation Center, on Chelten Avenue, as about 10 to 15 others, including some very young children, played nearby, 6ABC Action News reports.

The victim was shot in his back, chest and shoulders. He was pronounced dead at Albert Einstein Medical Center.

The Action News report identified the victim as Tony Sherrod McAllister, 45. McAllister was the stepson of Phil McCallister, a Philadelphia firefighter who died in the Meridian high-rise blaze of February 1991.
