Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man they say may be connected to the city’s first murder of the year.
Julio Mora, 22, was found dead shortly after 1 a.m. on Jan. 1. inside a house on 113th Street in South Jamaica.
Police said initially that Mora had stab wounds to the chest, but a medical examiner later determined that he had died from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Sheldon Smith, 26, is being sought in connection with the murder. He is described as a being 6 feet tall, 160 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.
