Man stabbed to death in E. Village

A trendy East Village block played host to a bloody stabbing early yesterday morning.

Christopher Jusko, 21, stumbled out of an apartment building at 272 E. Seventh St. between Avenue C and Avenue D at 5:30 a.m. yesterday. He had been stabbed in the neck, police said, and was covered in blood, according to eyewitnesses.

“I was coming down the block on my way to the bus and he came out of the building, staggering like he was drunk,” said Charles Smith, 42, who lives nearby on Avenue D, of Jusko. “And then he fell on his back and you could see the stab wounds. Blood started leaking out of him.”

A suspect, a man who lives in the building, turned himself in to police and is in custody, officials said. Jusko did not live in the building and his address was unknown, police said.

Witness report

Jusko and his suspected murderer were arguing inside the building, according to reports. It may have been over a girl, said Clyde Ramos, 22, a New York Film Academy student who lives in the building and who said he knew the suspect. He declined to elaborate.
