"The preliminary information is that an employee on the tarmac suffered fatal injuries after being hit by a truck as it was traveling in reverse in the area of a plane,"Jacob Wark, a spokesman for Suffolk County DA Dan Conley, said in a statement, WCVB reported.

The death is under investigation by state police and the Suffolk County District Attorney's office.

“At this stage, the fatality appears to be accidental,” said Wark. "He showed no obvious signs of impairment, but will be tested for drug and alcohol use pursuant to employment policy.”

The driver of the truck, 47, was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital for stress.
