A man who was walking in the track area was killed by a SEPTA regional rail training this morning, officials said.
The man was struck around 9:40 a.m. south of the Fern Rock station by a train headed to the airport, according to SEPTA spokeswoman Heather Redfern.
"He was in the track area so why he was in the track area, all of that is still under investigation," Redfern said.
The train stopped after striking the man.
About 70 passengers on the train were transferred from the train to a bus to complete their journey.
Service was delayed for about 20 minutes but not suspended and is now back up to normal, Redfern said.
