Man: T employee slapped me

When Stuart Wilkerson asked a T employee for directions to Providence, R.I., he got more than he bargained for.

The 37-year-old claims a female MBTA employee slapped him on Oct. 16 after he confronted her for giving him faulty directions.

Wilkerson said she led him an hour and a half in the wrong direction before he returned to Back Bay station, where he tried to take her picture when she responded rudely to his confrontation. She allegedly hit him three times.

When he learned of the incident 11 days later, MBTA GM Rich Davey apologized to Wilkerson.

“It is frustrating,” Davey said. “I say that because I firmly believe I have 6,000 men and women working for me every day who do it right. Occasionally, we do it wrong. I have 100 good stories for every bad one.”
