Man throws woman from moving car on I-495 in Merrimac

Two men were arrested Sunday afternoon after one of them allegedly threw a woman from a moving car as it was traveling northbound on I-495 in Merrimac.

Two men were arrested Sunday afternoon after one of them allegedly threw a woman from a moving car as it was traveling northbound on I-495 in Merrimac.

The woman was seriously injured, and was taken to Anna Jaques Hospital by ambulance and then moved by medical helicopter to a Boston hospital.

An off duty police officer reported the incident, and helped police track down the car. Two men were taken in to custody and transported the the State Police Barracks in Newbury.

Henry Matos, 45, of Lawrence, was charged with drunk driving, and Moises Matos, 43, of Lawrence, is in protective custody, police said.

The identity of the female victim is not being released at this time. Police are still investigating.
