Cops are searching for a man who tried to rape a young woman walking home from a Queens bus stop after a Halloween party early Friday.
Police said the man followed the 23-year-old college student from a Q64 bus stop in Flushing when he grabbed her by the throat and shoved her to the ground around 5 a.m.
The suspect punched the woman in the head and attempted to rape her near the intersection of 150th Street and Melbourne Avenue, police said.
A man in a nearby residence heard the woman's screams and shouted down to the suspect that he called 911, police said. The suspect then fled.
The suspect is described as a white male, between 20 and 30 years old, with a light complexion and short dark hair. He is believed to be between 5'5" and 5'8" and 150 to 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and dark jeans, police said.
Cops ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
