Man with gun shuts down Flatiron

Police arrested a man who barricaded himself in the Flatiron building this afternoon, shutting down streets in the heart of the city.

The suspect was an elderly man who locked himself in his apartment with a firearm, according to the Daily News.

He reportedly waved the gun at a window washer, while still in his apartment, which was in the landmark building.

The man, who emerged wearing a “Richer or Poorer” shirt, took no hostages, police said.
