The Manhattan district attorney is wading into the Dec. 14 death of a woman in a Midtown elevator.
According to the New York Post, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance is investigating the freak-accident death of Suzanne Hart, killed when an elevator she stepped into shot up suddenly.
Investigators have said that the building had violations before she was killed, and had recently undergone maintenance by Transel, which it is now investigating. The building, at 285 Madison, received 11 violations against 13 elevators after the death.
