A Metro Boston follower tweeted yesterday, “Just witness the no.#28 bus at Ruggles Station running away w/o driver at wheel. It went on the sidewalk and took down a pole,” @jokerpokerblog said.
T spokesman Joe Pesaturo confirmed an incident happened at Ruggles Station, saying that at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, “A bus, which had just come out of service, began to move away on its own after the bus operator departed the vehicle. The MBTA is investigating whether the parking brake had been properly applied.”
MBTA officials did not release further information.
