MBTA police arrest man who threatened T driver

MBTA Transit Police arrested a man accused of threatening a T driver with what appeared to be a gun, after a second suspect he was with spat in the driver’s face.

Maurice Jones, 18, Roxbury, will be arraigned today in Roxbury District Court on a charge of assault by means of a dangerous weapon.

According to reports, after the first suspect spit on a T driver and fled the vehicle, Jones said to the driver of the Route 28 bus, “Mother******, you want some of this, you really want this,” while gesturing to his waistband.

According to reports, the T driver stated he believed Jones was motioning his hand towards a firearm concealed in his waistband.

Police have not yet arrested the suspect accused of spitting on the T employee.
