Melville teen critical after head-on crash

A Boces School student was admitted yesterday to Huntington Hospital with head injuries and was listed in critical condition after a head-on collision on Vanderbilt Parkway.

According to Suffolk County Police, Jacqueline Koslosky, 18, of Melville, lost control of her Nissan in front of Hollows Hills East High School and crashed head-on into a Lexus that was being driven by 48-year-old Dix Hills resident Fran Ross.

“The accident was weather-related,” said Suffolk County Police Detective Richard Auspacker. “The visibility was low due to the heavy rain, and the roads were really slippery.”

Ross was treated for neck and back injuries at Huntington Hospital.
