According to a Harvard faculty directory, Akashah is an instructor of environmental health at the Harvard School of Public Health.
A School of Public Health spokeswoman said Akashah graduated from there with a doctoral degree in 2011.
"She holds a temporary appointment of instructor at Harvard School of Public Health. The appointment began January 1, 2012 and has always had an end date of May 31, 2012. Due to human resources and privacy rules, we will not discuss whether or not there will be any disciplinary action," a Harvard statement said.
Akashah told police she was prescribed the drug by a doctor in California after having surgery. She said her doctor could provide a note.
