Officials from an international fraternity have suspended its Massachusetts Institute of Technology chapter for “inappropriate behavior.”

Delta Upsilon International suspended its MIT chapter effective immediately until 2016, according to The Tech, MIT’s student newspaper. MIT also withdrew its recognition of the fraternity as an independent living group and as a student group.

The suspension followed an investigation that found allegations of inappropriate behavior during unsanctioned events, The Tech reported. No further details were released.

The behavior took place during the four weeks in January known as Independent Activities Period for members of the MIT community to participate in the wide variety of events and activities.
