An MIT sophomore was found dead in her Memorial Drive dorm room Tuesday, the university announced Wednesday.
President L. Rafael Reif said in an email to members of the MIT community thatPhoebe Wang, a student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, was found dead in her dorm room.
Wang was from Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania.
"It breaks my heart to tell you," MIT President L. Rafael Reif said in an email to students and staff.
"The death of a young person is always a shock, and in recent months we have lost too many of our cherished students and dear friends," Reif wrote.
Within the past month, Reif also reported the death of Austin Travis, a graduate student in the chemistry department at MIT.
