Boy stabbed girl, 16, when she ignored his advances

More details on last night's stabbing following the City and Philadelphia Youth Commission-sponsored bowling night:

The Erie Lanes Bowling Alley was releasing the hundreds of attendees in groups following the party.

A 16-year-old girl left the alley with her group around 10:20 p.m. and walked to the bus stop.

A boy from the group released immediately before attempted to talk to the girl as they walked towards Erie and Torresdale avenues. When the girl ignored the boy's advances, he struck her in the arm with an unknown silver object.

The girl saw blood coming from her arm, met up with family members and called police. She was taken to St. Christopher's Hospital for a puncture wound to her right arm.

The boy, who was an acquaintance of the injured girl, fled the area on foot.

This morning, the defendant was arrested inside his residence on the 1300 block of N. 10th Street around 9:45. Investigators recovered a novelty house key that contained a small, retractable blade.

The boy was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, possessing an instrument of crime and terroristic threats.
