State Police: More than 800 crashes, one death over New Year's holiday

From New Year's Eve through Jan. 2 Pennsylvania State Police reported it investigated 836 crashes, and of those 146 people were injured and one was killed.
According to state police statistics, 36 were alcohol related.
Police arrested 220 people for driving under the influence and issued 3,013 speeding citations. Police also said 361 were cited for not wearing a seat belts. Another 42 were cited for failure to properly secure children in car safety seats.
Last year one person was killed and 86 were injured in 377 crashes during the same holiday period, state police said.
From Christmas Eve through Dec. 26th, state police investigated 900 crashes, which resulted in 255 injuries and eight deaths.
