HEMPSTEAD – A 29-year-old man was arrested early Friday for allegedly assaulting and stealing a cell phone from a pregnant woman in Hempstead. Nassau County police said Azhar Wiggins punched the woman in the face and stomach and threw a glass bottle at her. Wiggins was arraigned on robbery, assault, and weapons charges Saturday.
