‘Move For Health’ and pitch at Fenway

Participants in Mayor Thomas M. Menino’s Boston Moves for Health program have a shot at throwing the ceremonial first pitch at the Red Sox game against the White Sox on July 18.

Healthy hopefuls who have registered at BostonMovesForHealth.org and logged at least three activities by noon on July 13 will be entered into the contest, according to a Menino spokesperson.

The winner will be notified by July 16, and will get two tickets to the game and a “Boston Moves for Health” t-shirt.

The Boston Moves for Health initiative aims to improve the health and wellness of the city by increasing access to free and low-cost physical activities and healthy living resources.

As part of the program, Menino has challenged Bostonians to lose one million pounds and move 10 million miles together.
