Mr. Met helps Queens students feed the hungry

Thanks, kids!

Thanks, kids! Mr. Met and New York Mets players Jonathon Niese, Mike Baxter and Daniel Murphy stopped by P.S. 12 in Woodside, Queens this afternoon to help load up trucks and play a game of catch.

Students at the primary school collected 2,000 pounds of canned food last year for City Harvest's annual 'Feed The Kids' food drive, more than any other school in the city.

With one in four city children facing hunger, City Harvest is currently collecting kid-friendly, nonperishable food at schools and businesses from now until Father’s Day, June 17.
