Murder stats rise to 71

A 36-year-old man was fatally shot Monday afternoon in Dorchester and police are searching for the gunman.

The unidentified man was found about 5:40 p.m. at 21 Crowell St. He was the city’s 71st homicide this year, according to police statistics. There were 45 homicides at this time last year.
