A man committed murder-suicide in the parking lot of the Wayne Junction train station in Nicetown this afternoon.
The man, 31, was sitting in the passenger's seat of a Ford Explorer in the station's parking lot at Wayne and Windram avenues when, around 11:51 a.m., he shot a 26-year-old female who was sitting in the driver's seat once in the right side of her head. He then turned the gun on himself, sustaining a gunshot wound to the mouth.
Police are unsure of the exact circumstances and have not yet released the murdered woman's identity. The investigation is ongoing.
