A 19-year-old drove a 2006 Ford Mustang into a light pole in Brooklyn on Sunday.

Police responded to a 911 call around 12:39 p.m. on Sunday. They arrived at the intersection of Linden Boulevard and Christopher Street to discover that two vehicles had collided.

Cops said a preliminary investigation shows that the Mustang was driving eastbound on Linden Boulevard when it struck the median, a light pole, and the second vehicle, a 2006 Toyota that was also traveling eastbound on Linden Boulevard.

The driver of the Mustang, a 19-year-old male, was taken to Brookdale Hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said the driver and passenger in the second car were not injured.

Police have not released the identity of the 19-year-old driver as they have not yet notified his family. They reported that the investigation is ongoing.
