Lawrence Mulvey, Nassau County’s Police Commissioner, has announced that he’s retiring April 1.
In a statement, Mulvey said he first expressed his wish to leave his post with Nassau County officials in Sept. 2010 and his decision to leave is in no way related to County Executive Ed Manganos’ battle with the Nassau Interim Finance Authority to regain control over the county’s finances.
