A 53-year-old New Jersey woman was caught carrying a gun and a knife inside her purse at a security checkpoint at Philadelphia International Airport, police said.
Kathryn Spiropoulos, from Ewing, New Jersey, was caught around 7 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Terminal D/E checkpoint with a .45 caliber semi-automatic Glock handgun, police said.
The gun was loaded with a magazine containing ten live rounds, but there were no rounds in the chamber.
A credit card-shaped object that folded into a knife was also found in her purse.
Spiropoulos does not have permit carry. She was arrested and charged with a violation of the Uniform Firearms Act.
