Just as the city's beaches and pools open up in time for summer, Staten Island's first amusement park in years makes its full debut this weekend.
Located along the Franklin D. Roosevelt Boardwalk and Beach near the intersection of Father Capodanno Boulevard. and Seaview Avenue, the Fantasy Shore Amusement Park is designed for children and families and will feature at least four borough-themed rides in its early days.
Kids up to 12 years old will be able to ride the Verrazano Viper, Midland Beach Proto, Tea Side Sea Cups and Staten Island Railroad, with more attractions expected to launch later in the summer.
The rides and park are to be operated by NY Carousel, the same group behind the Fantasy Forest in Queens' Flushing Meadows Park.
While prices for the individual rides haven't be released, admission to the park will be free.
The park is slated to be open every weekend until June 26, when it will be open every day through Labor Day.
