A pair of New York newlyweds are pulling out all the stops to try to find their lost wedding photos.

Lacy Pica Nugent, 34, and Tony Nugent, 40, were married on Oct. 12. About a month later, on Nov. 8, their wedding photographer left her backpack —containing her computer, hard drive and the Nugent’s priceless memories—in a taxi cab in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

The photographer was able to track down the cabbie, who told her that four men got in the taxi after her, asking to be taken to the Lower East Side. But when the group tried to smoke cigarettes in the taxi, the driver kicked them out, somewhere near Rivington or Delancey Street.

The cabbie told the photographer that the group took the backpack with them.

The photographer posted a Craigslist ad, Tony said. She was contacted by someone claiming to be a truck driver from Missouri, who said he bought the computer from someone in a parking lot.

But then he disappeared. After a few weeks, the photographer told Lacy and Tony what happened.

The trail went cold until this past Thursday, when the truck driver got in touch again.

He told the photographer she needed to send him money and so that he could ship her the computer. Desperate to get Lacy and Tony’s wedding photos back for them, she complied.

But the couple have their doubts. After posting her own Craigslist ad, Lacy received a message from a woman in Rhode Island who said she had been duped by the exact same story.

“Apparently this guy has done this before and we couldn’t catch the photographer in time,” Tony said.

They are trying to remain optimistic. Even before their nuptials, after all, the couple faced obstacles.

An impending no’reaster threatened their picturesque beachside wedding in Rehoboth Beach, Del. But friends and family rallied together and, within four or five hours, found and decorated a new indoor location.

The wedding itself went off without a hitch, even featuring a choreographed dance by Lacy’s father to Young MC’s “” target=”_blank”>Bust a Move.”

“The wedding turned out to be, by all accounts, a really good time everyone,” Tony said. “We were lucky.”

The two are grateful for the beautiful wedding they did have and, they emphasized, for one another.

“I only wish we had photos to capture those beautiful memories that live in my mind,” Lacy wrote in her Craigslist ad.
