A 35-year-old woman was found dead in front of an apartment on East 57th Street early Thursday morning.

JenniferRosoff was found outside of her apartment buildingat 400 E. 57th St. in the Sutton Place neighborhood in Manhattan.

Police say Rosoff was on a date. She and the man she was with were having a cigarette and talking on her balcony when the railing she was sitting on broke.

Cops said she fell 16 stories, landing on some scaffolding below, on the second floor.

When officers found Rosoff around 12:50 a.m., she was unconscious and unresponsive. Emergency personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

Thomas Viola, a second floor resident of the same building, said Rosoff landed just outside his bedroom window.

Viola said he heard Rosoff scream, then heard “a thud.”

“I heard her scream so loud,” he said. “‘Oh my god!’ she said.”

Cops said the investigation is ongoing, but no criminality is suspected at this time.
