NEW JERSEY. Accused wannabe jihadists Carlos Almonte and Mohamed Mahmood Alessa appeared briefly in court on Thursday and were denied bail on charges they plotted to kill, harm and kidnap people outside of the United States.
Alessa, 20, smirked during the hearing but it was not clear at what, the New York Post reported.
